One of the project activities for which our city received resources from Norwegian grants is the transformation of the currently unused space between the market and the primary school of P. O. Hviezdoslav, into a new recreation area with elements of greenery, water element and small architecture.
The purpose of this park will be primarily to improve the local microclimate, reduce the carbon footprint (CO2), increase the resilience of the urban environment to overheating, retain rainwater in the country and prevent its runoff into sewers.
The decision of the new Central Climate Park will be decided by the inhabitants of the city with their vote, which is also a pilot project of participation in our city.
3 different variants of the Central Climate Park were prepared by a team of designers Róbert Šmajda, Martin Štofira, Róbert Šmajda Jr. and Eva Hrivňáková. The individual proposals were worked on by designers who are involved in the project as experts for the proposals to meet the requirements and criteria of the project “Snina a city that is ready for climate change”.
You can find information on how the voting itself will take place, further visualizations and more detailed information on individual proposals at www.sninaklima.sk/klimaticky-park
